And, isn't it correct that the Blue Devils had racked up the most wins for any team in the state this season? Before the sub-state game, the boys' record was 30-3. Thirty wins in a single season is incredible for any team, so we're all very proud of the student-athletes who call themselves Blue Devils.

I totally agree, Kevin.
I couldn't believe they brought him back this year but look what happened.
I thought it was a foregone conclusion that he would not return.
They were well-prepared throughout the playoffs and this was an incredible accomplishment by the Giants.

I truly believe the post-season NIT is obsolete. It WAS a great event in its time. I certainly agree with that. Now is another matter. It gives some teams which don't make the NCAA field a chance to continue playing but except for an occasional small school, I think there's little motivation to compete in this tournament anymore. If a team from a relatively large or large conference is in it, they'd rather not be in it in virtually all cases. I think the tournament should be eliminated at this point as it serves no real purpose. It has outlived its usefulness. There will be some good games in it but few people will care. The NCAA Tournament is such a big deal now that it commands all the true interest at that time in the season.

So, the bomb bay door is open and fat man and little boy are about to be dropped? War time? No, the Mitchell Report on steroid abuse in major league baseball. It doesn't surprise me, but it does sadden me. The asterisk era is here. For how long? That is anybody's guess. I harken back to the days of Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron and Mickey Mantle when the strongest abuse was alcohol and not HGH. Will all records have an asterisk next to them now- most likely. Anytime a player has a great season will you wonder- is he on the juice? It is a sad state of affairs that professional sports is in. What is the answer is anyone's guess.
