Portions of the Mitchell Report are leaking as i write this and the fallout will be far reaching. Not only baseball, but all sports as this steroids epidemic runs wild. It may be a sign of the times but i harken back to the “good old days” when the only drug was alcohol.
After all, the only drug Mickey Mantle ever used came out of a six pack. Willie Mays, Henry Aaron didn’t need steroids and it has tarnished not only the integrity of professional sports, records broken but, more importantly, the players health as well. If they were used under a physician’s care for a medical condition that is one thing, but if not, then the player(s) are and must be held accountable. Afer all, they are being paid huge salaries to perform and owners have the expectations that everything is beyond repraoch. However, that may have disappeared in this “steroid era.” What a shame it is.
